About the Artist:
“Any day that I wake up and create with my hands is a joyful day!”
When I was young, I would hike with my family in the Arizona desert, collect pretty stones, take them home, put them in the rock tumbler and make the polished stones into jewelry or just keep them safe in my treasure box. I also loved to draw, paint and do anything I could to be creative with my hands.
As a young adult, I studied fine arts at Arizona State University and with an emphasis in jewelry at Northern Arizona University. “Working small and three dimensional has always been my favorite form of expression.”
After having three children, I realized that I needed a safe, heatless way to connect metals. Cold connecting (connecting metal without the use of heat), beading and polymer clay were areas I explored. My jewelry business began in 1989 at the Grand Canyon’s South Rim, my home for the past 20 plus years. Exploring the Canyon in all its colors has been an experience that has influenced my life and creativity. I have an eclectic style combining a variety of techniques: Forging, fabricating, wire coiling, polymer clay caning and beading. I’m always experimenting, learning new techniques and incorporating them into my jewelry. My collectors love the individuality and variety of my pieces.
The world has a limitless supply of unique jewelry materials for me to use and I choose from the best. Sterling and fine silver, 14 karat gold-filled, copper, Swarovski crystals, vintage glass, freshwater pearls, earthy stones and all types of semiprecious gemstones are united in endless combinations to create my one-of-a-kind treasures. I am sure that you will enjoy wearing them as I had fun creating each individual piece.
I have
recently moved from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon to Flagstaff, AZ.
